Our Centre

We offer a stimulating child-focused play based learning program that provides children with endless opportunities for growth and development. Children explore, investigate and learn through their own unique intelligences and at their own developmental level.

We are passionate about developing and enhancing happy, confident, creative, kind, compassionate, independent, self-directed thinkers and learners.

We value positive, caring and inclusive relationships between children, families, educators, early childhood professionals and the community to nurture and support children in these vital early years of life.

From 2027, we’ll be offering 20 hours of Pre-Prep (more hours of free kindergarten for 4 year olds).

Kinder Programs

We offer free 3 and 4 year old kindergarten, with 20 hours of Pre-Prep offered in 2027.

Excursions

Incursions and excursions provide learning experiences and strengthen a sense of belonging and connection with local and wider communities. 

Kitchen Garden
Program

We participate in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. Children plant and care for the kinder’s herb and vegetable gardens. The program introduces food education to children, helping form positive food habits for life.

Environmental
Sustainability

Our indoor/outdoor program allows children to be immersed in the outdoor environment. We model responsibility for the environment through sustainable practices, such as compost use, waste avoidance, and the use of natural materials.

Storypark App
Access

Storypark connects our educators with parents, providing the ability to share news, service updates, progress and exciting moments from kinder to home!

Safeguarding Children
and Young People

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people, providing safe and fun environments for children to flourish.

Philosophy

Our kindergarten’s philosophy guides our teaching and approach to early learning. It is informed by the National Quality Framework and underpins all our service’s operations and daily practices.

The Y has been delivering Early Learning Programs for over 20 years and is passionate about creating safe, fun, educational environments where children can thrive. Enrolment & Session Information

Californian Gully Kindergarten’s enrolment registration process is managed centrally by Central Goldfields Shire’s Centralised Registrations and is supported by the Y Kinders’ enrolment team who will provide information and support on any queries relating to your child’s enrolment.

We operate both 4 year old and 3 year old free kindergarten programs as a mixed age groups on the days and times below:

3 & 4 Year Old Kindergarten (2026)

Early access to Pre-Prep in 2026: If your child meets the criteria for priority access to Pre-Prep you may be eligible for between 5 and 7.5 hours of additional kindergarten in 2026. Find out more here.
