Eaglehawk
Preschool

Our Centre

At Eaglehawk Preschool, we promote the philosophy that each child is valued and respected equally in a nurturing environment, where activities and experiences reflect children’s interests, developmental needs and abilities.

We believe that the preschool environment needs to be welcoming for children and families. We support families in their parenting role and have special family days during the year to show that we value the role families play in their child’s development. We provide play based activities that follow the interests and needs of the children. Staff support each other and work well together to achieve the best outcome for everyone.

We have an attractive outdoor play space which is conducive to all types of play. There are plenty of shady areas and a variety of natural materials used in this area. ‘Plants and Nature’ is one of our focus areas and we have a vegetable garden. The children are able to taste some of these foods as part of our healthy eating program.

We also focus on health and hygiene, road safety, safety around dogs, music and movement and the development of physical skills, involving both gross and fine muscle activities. Children are also able to regularly borrow books from our lending library.

Eaglehawk Preschool proudly displays the Kinder Tick to help families feel confident that our program is recognised as a funded kindergarten program and:

  • Is led by qualified staff
  • Children benefit from play-based learning
  • The kindergarten program is funded and approved by the Victorian Government
  • Our program complies with government guidelines and the National Quality Framework
