Orbost
Kindergarten

Our Centre

Orbost Kindegarten was opened in 1963 through the generous support of the local community – over the years it has continued to receive huge support and remains a community kindergarten at heart.

Our kindergarten aims to provide high quality education and care in a warm, caring and supportive environment, where children are able to access an indoor outdoor program promoting physical and mental wellbeing.

Our kindergarten values sustained and purposeful play and our program is guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

We are committed to providing children with high quality education which will support a positive transition to school.

Through our network with early years services in the town, and participation in the Orbost Early Years Reference Group, we aim to provide a seamless transition from birth through to kindergarten and on to school.

Parents and family involvement is seen as integral to children’s ongoing learning.

Orbost Kindergarten proudly displays the Kinder Tick to help families feel confident that our program is recognised as a funded kindergarten program and:

  • Is led by qualified staff
  • Children benefit from play-based learning
  • The kindergarten program is funded and approved by the Victorian Government
  • Our program complies with government guidelines and the National Quality Framework

3 & 4 Year Old
Kinder Programs

We run multiple 4 year old groups, providing families with flexibility to enrol into a group that works best. We are pleased to offer 15 hours of funded 3 year old kindergarten each week.

Community
Excursions

Excursions and incursions are a key part of our program. Venturing out into the local area allows children to explore the world around them and feel a part of their community.

Space to
 Explore

Our large indoor and outdoor play areas are designed to encourage learning and exploration. We have 2 spacious kindergarten rooms and lovely shaded playgrounds.

Storypark App
Access

Storypark connects our educators with parents, providing the ability to share news, service updates, progress and exciting moments from kinder to home!

School Readiness
Program

Our program supports children with the exciting period of change that marks their transition to primary school. Strong partnerships with our local schools help make this next step as smooth as possible.

Safeguarding Children
and Young People

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people, providing safe and fun environments for children to flourish.

Philosophy

Our kindergarten’s philosophy guides our teaching and approach to early learning. It is informed by the National Quality Framework and underpins all our service’s operations and daily practices.
For more details, please ask us for a copy of our Philosophy Statement.
