At Willaura & District Kindergarten we know that each child is strong, capable and a powerful learner. Our program is designed around this understanding and aims to nurture each child’s innate intelligence and build upon their existing knowledge, culture and understandings.
We provide a nurturing, warm and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, inquire, investigate, discover, experiment and most of all develop a sense of belonging as they discover all the amazing things they are capable of. Our curriculum emerges as we get to know your child’s interests, thoughts, ideas and feelings.
We are committed to a child safe environment, ensuring children and young people are safe and feel safe.
Staff form close play relationships with each child, and it is through play that we provide each child with the necessary tools and equipment for them to explore and bring to life their ideas and new concepts. Our attention to children allows us to be flexible and use a range of intentional teaching strategies designed to extend children’s thinking, question their understandings and further develop new concepts.
Relationships with our families are extremely important and parents are welcome and encouraged to work closely with our educators, helping to maintain our wonderful kindergarten. We greatly value our strong Parent Advisory Group who support the kindergarten program through fundraising and working bees. We encourage all families to be active participants in our kindergarten.

Willaura & District Kindergarten is amongst the first Y Kinders to commence Pre-Prep, with 30 hours of early education offered for 4-year-olds from 2025.
