Congratulations to Carey Street Kindergarten in Ararat which received an Exceeding Rating in their recent Assessment and Ratings.
Their welcoming environment and approach, which inspires confidence and a sense of empowerment in children, contributed to the kinder’s high rating.
“We place a strong emphasis on connections with family, community, the natural environment and culture, including embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, to support children to feel confident to explore, learn and express themselves,” said Kylie La Rocca, Teacher at the kindergarten.
Creating an environment that promotes a sense of agency for children, along-side well-being and resilience, is a high priority for all the team.
“Along with providing a stimulating and rich learning environment, we feel it is vital that the children feel safe, secure, cared for and valued,” Kylie added.
Receiving such an outstanding rating, especially meant a lot to the staff as they are a relatively new team.
“The Carey Street team and I were over the moon to receive this outstanding rating! It’s a joy to be part of a team that shows such passion for Early Childhood Education. This shone through as we came together to ensure that the service received an Exceeding Rating. It has definitely set us up to continue to strive to deliver a high-quality kinder program,” said Kylie.
The service was commended on their strong connection with families, the local community and other professional networks. This all contributes to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.
