Rated Exceeding! Inclusivity and quality shine at Grace Berglund Kindergarten

June 22, 2026 Inspired Early Education

A huge congratulations to the team at Grace Berglund Kindergarten on achieving an Exceeding Rating through the Assessment and Rating process.

The result was met with joy and excitement mixed with a twinge of relief from the team, who were eager that their high-quality program and collaborative approach would shine through on the day of Assessment.

“I was both relieved and proud,” shared teacher, Pauline Whyte. “I kept it to myself for about an hour after reading the email before sharing the news with the team.”

Allison, Educator, reflected that “it was a great reward for our work.”  The rest of the team was incredibly excited after a process that went well, despite a few nerves.

The Kindergarten, which is located in Warragul, in Baw Baw Shire, was assessed across the seven National Quality Standards.

A welcoming place of inclusion

The final report recognised the team’s commitment to inclusion and high-quality educational practice, noting that “All educators were inclusive and actively promoted diversity. Throughout the curriculum and educators’ practices there was a strong commitment to developing positive attitudes towards differences and promoting unbiased behaviours.”

A consistent approach which creates security for children

The team was pleased that the consistency and quality of their practice was also acknowledged. The thoughtful, intentional and responsive approach demonstrated by the educators and the implications for learning outcomes was recognised.

“This consistency in intent and approach creates a strong sense of continuity,” said Pauline. “We endeavour to ensure predictability and security for each child, alongside everyday experiences which are guided by the ongoing needs of the children.”

Quality outcomes through a philosophy in practice

Additionally, the practices of the educators could be seen to clearly align with the kindergarten’s philosophy, learning frameworks and commitment to quality outcomes.

A particular point of pride for the team was the recognition of leadership at the service, with the report highlighting the positive workplace culture and focus on quality that underpins the kindergarten’s work.

Families were equally delighted by the result, with one parent sharing, “Congratulations and well deserved! Amazing…! We already knew you were exceeding.”

This achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and ongoing reflective practice of the entire Grace Berglund Kindergarten team. Through strong leadership and  their commitment to continuous improvement, collaborative relationships and high-quality learning experiences, they create a wonderful safe and caring environment for each child.

Thank you to the team for your outstanding work and congratulations on this fantastic achievement!
