Studying and pursuing a passion: Congratulations Faith!

December 3, 2023 Our teams

“Teaching young children has always been a dream for me and I feel we all need to follow our passions.”

Faith Mansbridge, loves her job as the Early Childhood Teacher at Lake Bolac & District Kindergarten. In addition to her day job supporting kinder children to learn and thrive, over the last few years, Faith has also been dedicatedly studying at Deakin University.

We warmly congratulate her on her achievements and completing a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education!

Originally starting her career as a day care educator in Darwin and working in a number of positions over her 27 years in the sector, Faith was keen to continue to increase her knowledge and take the next steps.

While always enjoying her role, she took the opportunity to study a Bachelor with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of current approaches and developments in the sector and to continue to enhance best practice in the service.

“I believe by completing my studies, it has led me to being a better educator and leader,” Faith said. “The Y has been very supportive of my studies, assisting me to undertake two placements and ensuring that there was virtually no impact on the delivery of our kinder program at Lake Bolac Kindergarten.”

She heartily recommends further study to her colleagues and other Y Kinders’ staff, “I would suggest if you are thinking about furthering your skills and are sitting on the fence – to just go for it, it’s a lot of hard work and dedication but it’s worth it in the end.”

Faith cannot speak highly enough of her kinder and her local community.

“I love my position here and am very passionate to come to work each day and create a learning environment that provides children with opportunities to be curious, creative, courageous and safe. I am very fortunate to work alongside a fabulous co-educator and together with our families and children, we provide a wonderful kindergarten.”

Faith is looking forward to the graduation ceremony which will take place early next year.
