When thinking about the best place for your child to start their kindergarten journey, there’s a lot of information out there online.
Details and descriptions of early learning options, centre philosophies or features of programs are listed on websites, in virtual tours and on social media, and can give a real sense of the program and approach.
However, nothing beats actually seeing, feeling and experiencing a kindergarten environment. Or meeting the staff team who will be there for your child, nurture them, inspire them and encourage them in their learning, every day.
Open Days provide a special time to visit a kindergarten, when the teaching team have time to show their centre and can focus on questions that families may wish to ask. Families can look at the learning spaces unhurried and get a real sense of the aspects that will appeal to their child.
Commencing in May, Y kindergartens are offering Open Days and we invite and encourage families to take this opportunity to explore their local kinder.
For a full list of upcoming Open Days, please see: ykinders.org.au/open-days.
A small number of Y Kinders offered Open Days earlier in the year and some offer tours by appointment. If your kindergarten is not listed, please contact them directly to arrange a visit.
