Zippy, the delightful travelling triangle is now in print, with the first book of their adventures hot off the press!
The energetic character, developed as part of celebrating 20 years of Y Ballarat managing early education services, has captured the imaginations of children and educators alike.
“Zippy’s First Adventure” books arrived at head office this week to the excitement of the team and will be on their way to all our 97 early learning locations in the new year.
Y Kinders services have been part of the journey to create Zippy, participating in the initial naming competition and assisting with the story. Children put forward suggestions of activities which may interest Zippy, should the character visit their kindergarten. Ideas were plentiful, ranging from exploring their playgrounds to feeding pet chickens and connecting with nature in Bush Kinder.
More recently, children have received a number of Zippy themed activity sheets – the latest one featuring a festive Zippy decked out for the holiday season.
Kinders across the state have also shared in the first leg of Zippy’s journey in a digital format, but they will now have a hard copy as a keepsake to read and enjoy.
We can’t wait to collaborate on the next edition, where Zippy will visit more Y Kinders and experience activities special to these services.
